PianoBoss is a piano-learning web app made by MITS SFL, Corp, a company in Hollywood, Florida. This page explains what information PianoBoss collects and how we use it.
What we collect
Your account. When you sign up we store your email address, your display name and your password. The password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read it. We also record when you signed up and when you last signed in.
Staying signed in. A cookie keeps you signed in. For each sign-in we store the IP address and browser type it came from, to protect your account.
Your progress. Which lessons you finished, your best scores and attempts, and your sound and level settings, so your progress follows you between devices.
Your subscription. Your plan and its status, and the customer and subscription numbers from Stripe, our payment provider. Payments are made on Stripe's own page; we never see or store your card number. We keep the billing messages Stripe sends us for our records.
Microphone. If you turn on the microphone, PianoBoss listens in your browser to recognize the notes you play. The sound is analyzed on your device and is not recorded or sent to us.
MIDI keyboard. If you connect a keyboard, the notes are read in your browser and are not sent to us.
Your browser. PianoBoss saves a few preferences and a short activity log in your browser's storage on your own device. That log is not sent to us.
How we use it
We use your information to run PianoBoss: to sign you in, save your progress, manage your subscription and keep your account secure. We do not sell your information, and PianoBoss has no advertising trackers.
Who else is involved
Stripe handles payments and has its own privacy policy.
PianoBoss loads its fonts from Google Fonts and two sheet-music code libraries from cdnjs and jsDelivr, so those services receive your IP address when the app loads.
Your account information is stored on servers our company manages.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it or delete your account. To do so, email info@mitssfl.net or call (754) 203-4594. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
